Market, Meat, & Mania!

Ok, so tons of fun stuff has been happening the last couple days! Yesterday [Saturday], we explored the market literally right outside our day and then headed over to Aachen, Germany to see Charlemagne's Cathedral.

The market was so awesome! I absolutely cannot wait to explore it more! [and buy things of course!]

Also, I apologize in advance for the fact that these pictures are in the opposite order they should be in--I haven't figured out how to make them upload in the order I want. Ha.

Alright, so this was the highlight of our rainy trip to Liege today...A group of guy's from Germany were having this guy's bachelor party and they were celebrating by charging people to cut squares off the groom's clothes. Ha. [Of course we had to join in on the fun] Above you saw Liz with her 2 euro piece of the guy's jeans. It was awesome!

These are the giant puppets at the festival in Liege. August 15th is a holiday in many European/Predominantly Catholic countries because their tradition states that Mary ascended into heaven on the 15th.

Saturday Afternoon...

This is the restaurant where we had THE MOST amazing food! It was called doner kebap and we think it was probably lamb. It just rotated on this big thing and the guy shaved it off for us.

Saturday morning...

This was the highlight of the market--a group of guys having a bachelor party. These guys really go all out for bachelor party's here. This guy's friends made him walk around the market in a diaper and buy things. He kindly posed for us outside our window.

Meet My European Home!

Well, after an 8-hour plane ride, 2 train rides, and a 20-minute walk with our luggage to the building we finally made it to our home away from home! What does the building look like, you say? Well let me just show you...Cute little chocolate on my pillow. I haven't eaten mine yet, but all the girls say it's really good!
